Prepare to Graduate

To receive your degree, diploma or certificate, it is the student's responsibility to complete the Application for Degree and turn it into the Academic Records office. You need to do this whether you plan to attend the graduation ceremony or not. All official diplomas will be sent to students in the mail.

Get ready to graduate

  1. Review your Academic Requirements Report to make sure you have met your program requirements.

  2. Review the College Degree Requirements to make sure you meet all the requirements to graduate
  3. Verify your Personal Information is correct in CampusConnection.
  4. Visit with your Academic Advisor to have them review your records to make sure that you should apply for your degree.
  5. Complete the Electronic Application for Degree.
    1. You must complete all items marked with an asterix *
    2. The name on your diploma will be taken directly from what is entered on this form.
    3. The address submitted should be where you would like the diploma to be sent.
    4. The hometown and home state will be used in the commencement program.
    5. Your area of study and degree can be found on your Academic Requirements report. See example:
      area of study
    6. If you have any additional credits (alternative learning or transfer credits) that have not been posted to your BSC transcript, please email with the following information:
      • Type of credit (CLEP, AP etc.) or Name of institution
      • Course work taken
      • When information should be received in our office.
    7. Complete the rest of the application, check the electronic signature box and submit.

Processing Application for Degrees

  1. You will receive an email once the form has been submitted.
  2. Your application will be reviewed to make sure your degree requirements have been met upon successful completion of the coursework taken during the semester you are earning your degree (see dates below).
    Note: You will be notified only if we show you may NOT meet your degree requirements via BSC email account.
  3. Once final grades have been processed for the semester you are graduating, it will take three to four weeks to review the application and have your degree posted to your BSC transcript.
    Note: You will be notified by USPS if you do not meet degree requirements.
  4. Diplomas will be mailed within two weeks of your degree being posted to BSC transcripts.
