It Doesn't Have to Be a Dilbert World:
Learning from "Good to Great" Workplaces
What's a Dilbert world? You know the place Scott Adams created in the comic strip "Dilbert" which involves workplace situations that he routinely makes up. Scott says these include bizarre and unworldly elements like sadistic talking animals, troll-like accountants, and employees turning into dishrags after the life-force has been drained from their bodies. Yet, he says the comment he hears most often is: "That's just like my company."
Dilbert really is hilarious. He stands not only for cynicism, but also for resignation and powerlessness. How can anyone survive powerlessness at the coolest time in centuries to make a mark? It doesn't have to be that way. In this session, participants will:
- Identify characteristics of a Dilbert world
- Learn about characteristics of a Good to Great workplace, as defined by Jim Collins in the book "Good to Great"
- See how other companies have shared humanity, compassion, and love in the workplace
Fee: $750 per hour plus mileage
