Etiquette Still Matters

Manners still count, and can still give you a professional advantage when used consistently and properly. This presentation touches on all areas of etiquette encountered on the job, including handling business meals, proper introductions, invitations, social situations and courtesies, chit-chat tips, and even the importance of "impactful integrity".

   Denise Hanson is a consultant with Synergy Consulting, a company she began in 1992. In addition, Denise is a trainer and facilitator for the Division of Corporate and Continuing Education at Bismarck State College. Denise was the Campaign Manager for the Heidi for Governor Campaign. From 1995 until 2000, she was the Executive Director of the North Dakota Newspaper Association. She graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1988, with major emphases in Marketing and Political Science. Denise started her career with Home of Economy stores in Grand Forks, working as their Advertising Coordinator. Upon graduation from college, she moved with the North Dakota Newspaper Association to Bismarck, as Advertising Sales Manager. In addition, she worked in advertising sales for The Bismarck Tribune, as Public Relations Director for an advertising agency, and as Director of the North Dakota Water Coalition, before being named to her current position with as Community Relations Director with United Blood Services.
   Through her consulting company, Synergy Consulting, Denise has spoken on a variety of topics including: management/supervision, marketing, advertising, time management, professionalism, etiquette, public speaking, hiring practices and public relations.
