Follow the Yellow Brick Road - The Path to Successful Speaking

This presentation covers the most basic elements of public speaking - audience analysis, "stage fright", organization, emotional and creative appeals, presentation skills and some basic dos and don'ts or helpful hints while giving presentations. This can be modified or expanded to focus in on the areas of the greatest need. Carol uses the Wizard of Oz theme as an analogy (and some film clips as a visual aid) to help make points in an amusing way. (1 hour to 3 hours)

Carol Cashman is an Assistant Professor of Speech at Bismarck State College. She teaches undergraduate public speaking courses, persuasion and debate. Carol received a BS and MS in Education from the University of Dayton in Ohio. In addition to teaching and delivering presentations, Carol is co-owner of Cashman's Nursery in Bismarck, North Dakota.
