Series Description: The Welding Technology Series includes courses essential to the welding field beginning with a solid understanding of metals, nonmetals and other materials commonly used in the industry. The series covers the basics of gas and arc welding followed by specific "how-to" instructions on all types of welding practices. The series also explains the proper procedures for brazing and cutting with welding equipment. Safety is stressed throughout the series. The Welding Technology Series is comprised of the following courses:

Metals - is an introduction to metals and alloys and their properties commonly used in industry.
Non-Metals - is an introduction to nonmetals and other materials and their properties commonly used in industry.
Welding Principles - will study the equipment, applications, concepts and safety used in, Oxyfuel Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Gas Metal Arc Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding.
Oxyfuel Operations - will study the equipment, applications, concepts and safety used in Oxyfuel Operation: Joining, Cutting, and Surfacing.
Arc Welding Operations - will study the equipment, applications, concepts and safety used in the Arc Welding Processes.
Who should participate? This series of courses is designed for anyone interested in learning an overview of the welding field.
What are the online course elements? This course is instructor-facilitated, asynchronous, and online. Participants learn from threaded discussions, self-check exercises, video/audio and text based lectures, quizzes, animations and graphics. Instructors provide feedback on students' completed exams and answer students' questions via email. Participants must purchase their own books before they start the course. When do participants complete the course work? Each course contains about 8 hours of content and participants are given six weeks (until midnight MST on the last access date) to complete the course requirements. If more time is needed, please contact Cheryl Templeton at Cheryl.Templeton@bsc.nodak.edu. Participants are provided a login and password to enter the course online. Company training supervisors may provide additional requirements, such as scheduled training times and activities.
College credit is not available for this course.

What are the registration options? Individuals or groups can register for the entire series (all 5 courses) or can register for course(s) independently.
How much does it cost? The series fee is $650.00 if the participant registers for all 5 courses at the same time. Individual courses are $150.00 per participant per course. Individuals must pay by credit card or prior billing arrangements need to be made by calling 701-483-2139 or 1-877-669-5013. Company Group Registration may pay by credit card or be invoiced. Invoices will be sent to the contact person.
What is the cancellation policy if I am unable to attend? Refunds granted at the participant's request will incur a $15 processing fee per class, to be deducted from the amount refunded. All refunds are made by mail unless paid with a credit card; in which case the card is credited. Please allow four weeks to process refunds. There will be no refund if an online course has been accessed.
