Emergency Operations Training Orientation to the Electrical Industry
The Emergency Operations Training course is designed for all positions identified in the NERC Standard PER-002-R4 and anyone else interested in learning about Emergency Operations and System Restoration. The Orientation to the Electrical Industry course is designed for new hire orientation and employee training programs for all positions in utility companies, including managers, engineers, technicians, non-technical staff, and anyone else interested in learning an overview of the electrical industry.
Industrial Aptitude Course NERC Standards Training
This non-credit course will expose students to variety types of lessons and questions focusing on reading comprehension, mechanical aptitude, spatial aptitude and general mathematics that they will face in an Industrial Aptitude test. This self-paced course will result in maximum test result by building the students self confidence as they proceed and help them avoid "test anxiety" that causes low test scores. In a series of nine modules, this course will define the NERC reliability standards and requirements for planning and operating the North American bulk electric system. The NERC Reliability Standards define the functions that need to be performed to ensure the bulk electric system operates reliably. This course is a complete review of the fourteen currently approved NERC standard sections containing more than one hundred individual standards.
Welding Technology Series SynchroPhasor Training Course
The Welding Technology Series includes courses essential to the welding field beginning with a solid understanding of metals, nonmetals and other materials commonly used in the industry. Next, the series proceeds to the basics of both gas and arc welding followed by specific "how-to" instructions on all types of welding practices. The series also explains the proper procedures for brazing and cutting with welding equipment. Safety is stressed throughout the series. In a series of three modules, this course will provide training that is intended to support the rollout of the most recent revision of the Real Time Dynamic Monitoring SystemT (RTDMS). This course will present information and training on a high-speed measurement device (SynchroPhasor) that will provide warnings of wide-area problems on the grid.
