Bismarck State College provides three types of distance learning opportunities, giving place-bound students the chance to earn college credit.

  • Online Courses, offered via the Internet, make it possible for people anywhere with Internet access to complete college credit classes. They are designed for independent learners and those who need freedom in their scheduling.
  • The N.D. Interactive Video Network (IVN) provides two-way audio and video communications to support distance education throughout the state. BSC has 4 of the 39 IVN classrooms located on the 11 campuses and 5 tribal colleges in the N.D. University System. BSC's IVN classrooms are located on-campus in the Vocational-Technical Center .
  • ITV (Interactive Television) courses are offered by BSC to 31 area high schools via the Great Western Network. Three sites may be online for a class via two-way audio and video. High school seniors and adults in the communities benefit by being able to complete college classes without traveling to the campus.
