Drop-in tutoring provides an opportunity for students to receive assistance throughout the semester by letting them drop-in any time during posted tutor hours. Drop-in tutoring is provided at no cost to BSC students.

All peer tutors are recommended by BSC faculty. They receive 10 hours of training through our nationally recognized CRLA Certified program.

Tutors are expected to help you understand significant course concepts, develop problem-solving strategies and suggest study strategies. They are not expected to know all of the answers. Tutors also will not do your homework for you. They will guide you through the process and make suggestions for changes if necessary.

Areas of study included in the drop-in tutor program include: Accounting, Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, English, Mathematics, Microbiology, Organic Chemistry, Spanish, and Statistics.

Most tutor sessions are held in the Sykes Student Success Center, located in 312 & 312B, Jack Science Center.
